Overview
Comet Instruments is committed to customer satisfaction. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds are issued for products purchased on cometinstruments.com. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.
This policy applies to all products sold via the Platform, including precision measuring instruments (digital multimeters, clamp meters, laser distance meters, thermal cameras, coating gauges, etc.) and in-house manufactured LED display boards and industrial indicators.
Cancellation Before Dispatch
Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of placement for a full refund, provided the order has not yet been dispatched. To cancel, contact us immediately via phone (+91 98932 31873) or email (ms_comet@hotmail.com) with your Order ID.
Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled. In such cases, please refer to our Return Policy for return options.
Custom-manufactured products (LED display boards, OEM indicators, customised digital counters, etc.) are non-cancellable once production has commenced, as these items are made to specification. A 30–50% advance paid for custom orders is non-refundable if the customer cancels post-production start.
Refund Eligibility
A refund will be issued in the following circumstances: (a) the product delivered is damaged or defective and reported within 48 hours of delivery; (b) the product delivered is significantly different from what was described or shown on the Platform; (c) the product is lost in transit and confirmed by the courier partner; (d) the order is cancelled before dispatch as per the terms above; (e) a duplicate payment is made due to a technical error.
Refunds are NOT applicable in the following cases: (a) products that have been used, modified, or tampered with after delivery; (b) damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, or exposure to conditions outside the product's rated specifications; (c) products where the original packaging, accessories, manuals, or warranty cards are missing; (d) custom-manufactured items where defects arise from specifications provided by the customer; (e) products purchased during clearance sales or explicitly marked as 'non-returnable'.
Damaged or Defective Items
If you receive a damaged or defective item, report it to our customer service team within 48 hours of delivery via email at ms_comet@hotmail.com or call +91 98932 31873. Please provide: your Order ID, photos/video clearly showing the damage or defect, and the original packaging.
Upon verification of the claim, we will arrange for either a replacement unit or a full refund, at our discretion. For products under manufacturer warranty (e.g. Fluke, Bosch, Hioki, FLIR), we will facilitate the warranty claim with the respective manufacturer. In such cases, the manufacturer's warranty terms and timelines govern the resolution.
Wrong Product Delivered
If you receive a product that is different from what you ordered, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with your Order ID and photographs of the received product and its packaging. We will arrange for reverse pickup at no cost to you and ship the correct item, or issue a full refund if the correct item is unavailable.
Refund Processing Timeline
Once a refund is approved, it will be processed within 5–7 business days. The refund will be credited back to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
PhonePe UPI / Wallet refunds: 1–3 business days after approval.
Credit/Debit card refunds: 5–7 business days after approval (subject to your bank's processing time).
Net Banking refunds: 3–5 business days after approval.
If you do not receive your refund within the stated timeline, please contact us at ms_comet@hotmail.com with your Order ID and transaction reference number.
Non-Refundable Shipping Charges
Outward shipping charges, if any, are non-refundable except in cases where the error is on the part of Comet Instruments (e.g., wrong item shipped, item damaged during transit due to insufficient packaging by us).
How to Raise a Refund Request
Step 1: Email us at ms_comet@hotmail.com with Subject: 'Refund Request – [Your Order ID]'.
Step 2: Include your Order ID, registered mobile number or email, a description of the issue, and clear photographs or video evidence.
Step 3: Our team will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and initiate the verification process.
Step 4: Upon successful verification, we will approve the refund and notify you of the expected credit timeline.
