This Privacy Policy describes how Comet Instruments and its affiliates (collectively "Comet Instruments", "we", "our", "us") collect, use, share, protect, or otherwise process your information/personal data through our website cometinstruments.com (hereinafter referred to as "Platform").

We do not offer any product or service under this Platform outside India. Your personal data will primarily be stored and processed in India. By visiting this Platform or providing your information or availing any product/service offered on the Platform, you expressly agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use, and the applicable service/product terms and conditions, and agree to be governed by the laws of India including laws applicable to data protection and privacy.

If you do not agree, please do not use or access our Platform.

We collect personal data when you register on our Platform, place orders, contact us through forms, or otherwise interact with us. This may include: full name, date of birth, billing and delivery address, mobile number, email address, GSTIN (for business buyers), proof of identity/address, and order/transaction history.

Payment instrument information (credit/debit card numbers, UPI IDs, bank account details) is processed through our payment gateway partner PhonePe and is not stored on our servers. We may store payment confirmation tokens and transaction reference IDs for order reconciliation purposes.

We may also automatically collect technical data such as browser type, IP address, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referral URLs to improve our Platform performance and user experience.

If you receive a communication from someone claiming to be Comet Instruments and requesting sensitive data like card PINs or net-banking passwords, please do not share such information and report it to us immediately at ms_comet@hotmail.com.

We use your personal data to process and fulfill your orders for measuring instruments, LED display boards, and other products; to send order confirmation, dispatch notifications, invoices, and delivery updates; and to provide after-sales service and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) reminders.

We may use your data to respond to your inquiries and quote requests; to detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions or abuse of the Platform; to conduct customer satisfaction surveys; and to send you promotional communications about new products, offers, and services (with your consent, and with an opt-out mechanism).

For business (B2B) customers including educational institutions and industrial clients, we may use contact details to send product catalogues, bulk-order quotations, and service contract renewal notices.

We share your personal data only as necessary. Sharing occurs with: (a) logistics and courier partners (to ship your order), (b) PhonePe Payment Gateway (to process payments), (c) third-party service providers bound by confidentiality obligations, and (d) manufacturers (e.g. Fluke, Bosch, Hioki, FLIR) when facilitating warranty claims on their products.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may disclose personal data to government agencies, law enforcement authorities, or courts if required by law, judicial order, or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, prevent fraud, or ensure public safety.

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law (e.g. GST records must be retained for 6 years under Indian tax law).

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by visiting your account settings or writing to us at ms_comet@hotmail.com with subject line 'Account Deletion Request'. We will process such requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements and pending order/dispute resolution.

You have the right to access, correct, and update your personal data through your account on the Platform. You may also withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time by clicking 'Unsubscribe' in any email or by contacting us.
